1. No public publication
By default, user-uploaded audio, stems and other project material are available only to the account owner, authorized project members and devices or players connected by the user.
Showbank does not sell, license or publish user material to the general public as part of the normal service.
2. User responsibility
The person uploading or using material is responsible for ensuring that the relevant use is lawful and covered by the necessary rights, licences or permissions.
The user does not need to personally own every copyright if the use is otherwise lawfully licensed or cleared, for example by an organiser, venue, collecting society or another responsible party. The user is nevertheless responsible for ensuring that the specific use is covered.
Showbank does not pre-clear whether a backing track, master recording, sample, lyric, logo, image or other content may be used at a particular concert or production.
3. Technical licence
By uploading material, the user grants Showbank only the limited rights required to store, back up, process, analyze, synchronize, transmit and play the material as part of the service. Showbank does not acquire ownership.
4. No general monitoring
Showbank does not generally pre-screen user content and is not intended to monitor what music or other material customers use.
If Showbank receives concrete and credible information that stored material or use of the service is unlawful or infringes rights, we may request documentation and temporarily block or remove the relevant material while the matter is assessed.
5. Rights-holder enquiries
Because user material is not publicly searchable, Showbank does not operate a public “report content” catalogue. A rights holder with a concrete reason to believe material is being stored or used unlawfully through Showbank may contact [email protected].
The request should identify the sender, the material concerned, the rights claimed and enough information for Showbank to identify the relevant project or content.
6. Showbank’s role
Showbank is a technical service provider and is not a party to the customer’s agreements with artists, labels, composers, organisers, venues or rights organisations.
The fact that material can technically be stored or played in Showbank is not confirmation that the user has the right to use it. Showbank will nevertheless comply with mandatory obligations that apply to the service provider itself.
